GRANOLA BARS

  • 1/2-pound brown sugar

  • 1 ¼ cups instant oats

  • 3/4-cup raisins

  • 3/4 cup-unsalted pecans roughly cut up

  • 3/4 cup sunflower seeds

  • 3/4 cup shredded and sweetened coconut

  • 3/4-tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1/4-cup flour

  • 1/4 cup unsalted peanuts

  • 2 eggs

  • 3/4-teaspoon vanilla

  • 1/2-teaspoon salt

  • 1/2-cup butter

Thoroughly mix the first set of ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix the second set of ingredients. Blend the two together; making sure everything is well distributed. Press into a cookie sheet (9x13xl) that has been greased and floured. Bake at 3500 for 25 minutes or until sides start to pull away from the pan. Cut into bars while still warm. Makes approximately 24 bars.

NOTE: For chewier bars, reduce cooking time by 8 to 10 minutes.
