POPPY SEED DRESSING

  • 1-cup vegetable oil

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 4 tablespoons poppy seeds

  • 1/4-cup honey

  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  •  teaspoon ginger

  • 1/4-teaspoon cayenne

  • 2 cups seasoned rice vinegar

  • 1-teaspoon paprika

  • 2 tablespoons minced onion (shallots preferred)

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Mix vegetable oil and egg, set aside. Add all other ingredients toge­ther and mix in a blender or food processor until well blended. Slowly add oil and egg mixture in one continuous stream. Store in refrigerator. Poppy seed dressing is especially good on fresh fruit salads or poured over skewered fruit kabobs. Makes approximately 3 cups.
